428 rear seal
I am contemplating the purchase of a cobra replica with a 428 FE. It is leaking oil at the rear of the pan and also appears to be coming out of the holes in the dust cover. I have been told that the pan can be removed easily. My question is: If the rear seal is a rope can it be changed in-car? I have been told conflicting stories that only the neopreme seal can be changed in-car and
only the rope seal can be changed in-car. Any comments?

I see the guys on FordFE.com took good care of you. I agree don't let a leaky rear main seal stop you from buying the Cobra if indeed you really like the car. It could also be the rear cam plug or oil galley plugs on the rear of the block also. Here's a Tbird site that shows an in car rear seal change......
