How does the auto 4WD work?
Where can I find detailed info on the auto-4WD system? I am getting the wife an 02 Explorer V6 4WD and would like to familiarize myself with this setup.

actually there is an electro-magnetic clutch in the transfer-case that will slide into engagement if the rear wheels start slipping, transfering power to both front and rear axle, or when you put into 4 high or low, it locks the clutch up with 12 volts. splitting the power all the time.
