I just got my new disks for the factory GPS navigation system. It shows me driving all over the place. Half the time it shows me a couple of streets over than where I really am or shows me way ahead of where I am. Anyone else have any probs with the Nav. system?
On my 03 expy, the nav system has been getting offtrack lately. I still use the old disks and was wondering if this wasn't a "market" ploy to get me to buy the updated discs (??). I also noticed that the compass heading doesn't track the compass heading in the dash even after calibration. Can't really say that it is because I live in a wooded area because it has happened on the interstates also. I'm still wond3ering.

It has too due with your compass tracking. I have had the same problem in my 05 with the newest disc. It has nothing to due with the discs. Somehow your compass gets off, you know it because the dash compass will stop correlating with the Navigation compass. Somehow I have found that recalibrating by retarting the nav and pushing the "here" button takes care of it. The dealer did replace my regular compass due ti it saying "compass control module error" on vehicle starts sometimes. I think that is not related though.
Not to change the subject but does anyone know if and where I can find a Navigation Unit for my 2005 Expedition, I currently do NOT have the NAV system but I want to install one, Also I have a factory DVD System, will anything be compatible to work with the Factory DVD.
Midway Ford in Malvern, AR used to have some brochures for Nav systems to replace in dash stereos. I had a brochure from them and if I run across it, I'll let you know. However, in my dually I use a Megallan Roadmate 700. I paid ~$900 with accessories at Circuit City about a year ago.
