Ok I want to put an exhaust system on my 7.3L. The only problem is I want to hear what they sound like before I spend all my money on one. The ones that are out are Silverline, Magnaflow, MRBP, Gibson. They all have to much of a gas engine sound when you lay on it. The ones that I really want to hear are Bully Dog, Banks, Hog, or ATS, others I didnt mention. If anyone can help me find a clip or if anyone has one of these on their 7.3L can you give me feed back or possibly record a clip from yours and put it on the computer. Thank you for any help I have been looking forever with no luck. Thanks

You're correct that the Bully Dog sound bite is a Dodge, a PSD will never sound like that as it is a V8 engine. The MBRP has the deepest tone of all the systems we have sold over the years and alos is one fo the easiest to install. The PSD and the Duramax just have a different exhaust note because they are a V8 design. Call us if you have any questions we'll be glad to help you.
Only problem with audio clips is the loss of low end audio fidelity unless u throw it on a BIG speaker capable of reproducing that low throaty rumble.
Stacks will probablyt be the best sounding,IMHO, like a pipe organ

Right. The sound clips really aren't going to give you a good idea of how it sounds. An exhaust system will sound a lot better with a load on it. I'm assuming that most of the clips are just trucks that they rev in park. And like PSNut said its not going to be like your standing next to it. My advice would be to try to find someone with exhaust that sounds good and ask them what brand. I've got a 5" straightpipe and I think it sounds pretty good.
Also, beware of exhaust drone in the cab. It can be extermly annoying especially
when loading the engine around mid-range(say1500-1700rpm's).
There's different options to eliminate it.

The in cab noise dont bother me I love the noise. can anyone with an MBRP system tell me is it has that much of a gas engine rumble to it in real life or is a little more subtle. I love the MRBP and Silverline sound at Idle or even Rev But on the drive by I dont like that rumble. And thank you for all the help.

I have the MBRP 4" turbo back system. The installation instructions show two ways to mount the muffler - more cab sound and less street or visa versa. I mounted mine for less cab noise. I don't know if it because of the length of run on my full size bed or what, but I have never noticed the in-cab 'drone' so many posters have said they get at 1700-1800 rpm. The exhaust and turbo sounds are a little more noticeable in cab but I never have a problem with conversation with the wife on a long trip. The wife periodically complains about that strange whistle ( WW )
So did you listen to mine? It sounds deeper than the Bullydog recording.
I was having a hard time hearing it but I did like the rumble of it. The only thing is I thought I seen something where it said it was aluminizied steel instead of straight steel.
