Engine tranny installation
For a '96 F250 w/ 5.8L, E4OD 4x4:
Is it possible/recommended to install the engine and transmission as one assembly? or is it better to install them separately (installation order?)?
The radiator and AC are still in the truck and I would prefer not to have to disconnect the AC. I have an A-frame hoist tall enough to clear the front clip but it would be very hard if not impossible to lift the truck high enought to get my transmission stand under it with the E4OD. I do not have a problem mounting the t-case to the transmission after it and the engine are installed.

Take the radiator out, it'll make it a little easier. Also take the hood off. If you remove the skid plate and tranny cross member, you should be able to get it in there in one piece. Whether it's easier or not that way, I'm not 100% sure. Look at it this way, though - it's not going to be easy one way or the other.
