can anyone tell me what's involved to put a newer style 5-speed manual trans. into a '79 pickup with a 4-speed. i really miss the overdrive, but i love the truck. there must be someone out there who's done it, or knows of a great site with step instructions or something. i want the honest truth if it is worth it or not. it may be too involved or way too pricey for me to mess with. it seems like it should work since i have a '93 300 motor, the tranny should at least bolt up to it. i don't know about the transfer case or the clutch however.
