The injectors are probably fine if the miss only occurs in the morning during cold starting.

Two areas you want to look into further to solve the missing are:

1.0. Glow Plug System.

Are all the glowplugs working the way they should? One bad glowplug will upset the entire system; just the way they work.

2.0. Air leaks into the Fuel System.

When older trucks sits at night and cool down air tends to enter the fuel system thru old rubber fuel return lines or return fitting o-rings. This causes the fuel to drain back to the tank and the injectors will miss while the air is being purged out during starting.

Either one of the above usually will cause some cylinders to mis-fire during cold starting.

Alaska?

Check the glow plugs, if one is not heating it will miss on that cylinder till it warms up enough to fire from compression alone.

That is not an easy thing to do with low ambient air temps, a cold block and one compression stroke to heat the air to around 475 degrees.
