221 head gaskets
hello everyone, I found this site while looking for some info ,I recently bought a 62 fairlane 500 with a 221 v8 it has a overheating problem, as I am restoring the car I took the engine out and have stripped it down. when I got to the head gaskets I noticed that the gasket does'nt allow water to pass through from the block to the heads. I have new gaskets now but they are the same as the ones that came off (got them from the same suplier as the previous owner) and have been told that there is only one type for this engine, has anybody heard of this before, just need to be sure before I rebuild it.
