Center Console Removal

Hi, I have a 2003 Eddie Bower Edition Expedition. I need to remove the top part of the center console because something is loose beneath it. It sounds like a piece of logo rolling around when I turn...very annoying. I have got as far as being able to unclip the front and back by pulling up, but something seems to be holding down the middle. I have lifted the rubber inserts on the cup holders, but no screw. I don't want to damage the console, so can anyone please shed some light on how to take the top piece of the center console without damaging it?

There is a screw under the rubber matt in the storage bin that is in front of the cup holders. Unscrew that and pull up. Easy to get off. You will need to unclip the wire connectors to the bun warmers and 12v outlet.

Thanks for the info. I thought that rubber mat was fixed because mine seems to be glued down. I will pull it out and give it a go. Thanks for the reassurance.

The mat isnt fixed or glued, just a really good fit. You can get under it around the edges. The repair manual for the Expy says to start lifting the console from the rear and move up to the dash. I tried this is the other day and it pops off pretty easy.
