Becoming Emancipated?

I know how you feel klatt. I have a friend who is going through the same thing, he just turned 18 though so there was no need to get emancipated. It's hard to see your friends go through tough situations like that though.

I did it at age 16. back then it followed post #4 primarily. I had to show I was mature enough and could continue to keep my grades up, support myself, I got irregular visits from a social worker that checked on my living conditions and pay checks.The social worker made the rounds to the local Police station to see if I had been in any trouble as well.They also checked with school to make sure I ws attending and passing. In the court I had to show I had an apartment or place to stay which at 16 was hard to find someone willing to rent to a 16 year old. A job to show I would be able to make my way and some show of insurance coverage for myself. court took almost 7 months to finalize,but was still determined by if I messed up the state had the right to revoke it and put me into care.
