E4OD TC Lock-up
I got a 91 F350, 7.3l Diesel with a E4OD and 4:10 rear end.
I seems to me that the E4OD torque converter locks up around 35 mph and unlocks at about 30 mph.
Our posted speed limit in the city in my neck of the woods is about 30 mpg (50 km/h) with traffic moving anywhere from 30 to 35 mph. Given traffic conditions I find that the darn torque converter does a lot of locking and unlocking or stays unlocked too much giving me less then optimal fuel consumption.
Q: Is there an adjustment that I can make to the tranny controller that would allow me to reset the T.C. lock-up to say 25 mph with an un-lock at say 20 mph?
Note, I have seen some of the posts on a toggle to lock/unlock the T.C., I think that would be way to cumbersome. Any adjustment would have to be automatic.
