Question bad idle

my 2005 4.0 ranger is acting up. the truck will be in park and the idle drops from what i guess is 650rpm down a little, sometimes down to 500rpm when it does this the truck snakes a little, it does this in gear sometimes.

pat
p.s. i wish ford would bring back the flathead as a crate engine

So you could put one in your Ranger? The little 60 might fit pretty easily...

Oh, sorry, got me off track there! Have you checked for codes? Usually an idle problem is caused by the IAC, but with the...(is that snake or shake?) that you describe, I'm thinking maybe a dirty injector or ignition problem that's causing a slight miss.

Assuming you haven't exceeded 36K miles, I would make your problem the dealers problem. Gotta love warranties .
