lifting questions

ok the scoop......1990 f-250 4x4 with a 460. currently is not lifted and has 265/75r16's i dont want a body lift but would like to get at 315/75r16's (looked it up online, said they are about 35's?)

what size lift is good???

can some one explain backspacing and how it affects things?

what is the difference between 16" wheels and 16.5, and how do i know the difference?

will i need wider wheels?

i am looking to do this in the next 6 months or so, so just starting to do research on it now, but i dont wanna jump at the first or easiest way, i want a good way. i also live in colorado and camp / fish pretty often so i want something that wont break on me every time i go into the mountains. thanks for the help.

.......also has fender flares if that makes a difference at all
