1998 compressor question
1998 compressor, motor is making a funny chimming sound as it kicks out, when the defroster and air is not running. One of the magnets from the front throw out is missing?
What is the fix for this? Do I replace the whole thing or can I just pick-up another magnet? Help please.

In my opinion it sounds as if your describing an AC compressor clutch. This would be the outer piece of the unit. The electro magnet is just below the clutch plate, when energized it pulls the clutch plate in connecting the rotating pulley, with the compressor shaft. You should be able to just replace the clutch. However, you may need a special tool to pull and reinstall a new clutch.
