Engine Cost V10 vs PSD

I stopped at the local Ford dealer Saturday night to look at two new V10 SD trucks they got in. Nice FX4's. After googling over the V10's I went over to look at the 12 6.0 PSD's they just off-loaded. Of the 12, two of the new trucks had the 6.0 cost at $5300.00, the others had $5100.00.

The V10 was still $600.00.

Anybody know the difference in the pricing for the same engine delivered at the same time for the 6.0?

I think he was asking why one PSD cost $5100 and the other cost $5300.

I've got no idea why.

Probably some part that needs to be upgraded that didn't on the other trucks.

I just checked Ford's web site, and it's $5300 for XLT, Lariat, 4x2, 4x4, auto, plow, etc.

NO ideas

I fried a few wires pondering on it and couldn't come up with anything that made sense. Maybe a typo? Who knows, but if I was buying I'd sure want to know.

And, Rich, look in your mailbox on the 4th...

what about build dates? maybe the two with 5100 were built earlier than the rest with 5300 for the motor. just my guess.

It is my sincere belief that you've already fried a few wires BEFORE looking at a 3-valver or any diesels

$5100 versus $5300 is build date. I know this for sure as I asked when I was comparing two. Can you say price increase. I went with the 12/05 build date versus the 05/05 build date -- with a PSD you want the latest.

ford upped the price 200.00 on the latter builds. Probably to help cover warranty costs.

Could it be that some of the PSDs also had dual alternators ? Naw...I quess not, that should show up as it's own order code I think...
