Hello, I am new to the site. Anyway I have a question. I have 80k miles on my 2000 F-150 supercab 4.6L. Ok about a month ago my truck started cutting out durring acceleration like there was bad gas in it. Then the check engine light came on. andit started running pretty bad. I replaced the fuel to see if that was the problem but i didnt think the check engine light would come on for that. Anyway I ran a diagnostic test on it. It came up to say there was a misfire on 6 and 8. well i just changed the plugs and one whole panel of the plugs were rusted and looking rough there was also water on the plugs. The other side did not look bad at all. Well after changing the plugs the check engine light went out. a day later it starts cutting out again and the light is back on. My cousin is a mechanic and he said something about he had a friend with a similar problem. He said it was the heater coil leakin water on the plugs or something like that. he also said to fix it you have to find where it is comming from and fix it. I dont know anything about this or even if this is the problem. Has anyone had this problem or know how i can go about fixing this problem.
I think the problems most people have with water intrusion is on plugs 3 and 4 (passenger side, back 2 cylinders) . Water intrusion on the drivers side is usually from washing your engine or runnin through big puddles (or ponds, or even lakes), or your friends being mean.
