03 Expedition- Mirror issue

Hello all. Just purchased my second Expedition yesterday. It's a 03 Eddie Bauer. Well, here's my question. I noticed that my courtesy light that is in the mirror/turnsignal unit is burnt out. So I went and bought a bulb to replace it. The owners manual said to use a t-10 torx head to remove the single screw. After that, it says to pull the turn signal lense down to seperate it from the mirror unit. Well, this is where I had a problem. It just doesn't pull down easily. I see there is a clip thing in there towards the outside end. It ended up just breaking off when I tried to pull down. Didn't put much force into it. I just superglued it back on, and it seems to be holding up just fine. My question is, in the future, when my bulb burns out, how do I go about removing the turn signal lense without breaking anything? Thanks for the help.

Bill

Unless you make A LOT of turns or sit with the emergency flashers on for hours, I don't see that bulb burning out anytime soon, probably not again while you own it.

Now that I think about it, I have never had a bulb of any kind burn out on any vehicle I've owned over the last 15 years, weird...

I think I should be fine for awhile. For some reason though, stuff that normally doesn't happen, it happens to me...Haha. I think the superglue will hold up. It feels pretty secure on there right now, and the screw should hold it on so it won't fall off. LOL. Thanks for the help.
