Is there any way to check the sender to see if it works. Im not shore if the guage in the dash is bad or if the sender is . I know when i tried to remove the nut holding the wire on all the guts inside of it spun. In all my years working on fords ive never had to change one before. Its on an 351W in my 86 hammer truck.
groung the wire to the asending wnit tp the block. If the guage reads hot of if the idiot light comes on the guage the sending unit is bad. About 45.00 at auto parts store. just did mine.
BH i just read your PM there is only 1 wire on the sending unit. It threads into a water passage on the drivers front of the intake. Do i ground that wire to the block.
