Hello,
I'm new here and I'm sure this has been cover many times. I have read many of the post concerning oil leaks.
My 99 F350 is out of warranty. Just started leaking from what seems to be the rear main, but after reading other posts I now have hope that it may be something like the Turbo Pedistal O-rings.
But with my luck it will be the rear main. I will check the TC inspection plate tomorrow when I get off work. If it's the rear main, does anyone know the ballpark the Dealer will charge to replace seal?

Welcome to FTE ,fwfd , I have been on not too long myself and you will be on all the time , alot of good information on this site and alot of fte'ers that know what they are talking about.
Well took it to Ford today and it turned out it was Fuel leaking from somewhere under truck. Something to do will water seperater or something. I had oil changed last week the day before it started leaking, while there I had them change the fuel filter also.
The leak was located close to where the filter is located. Kwik Kar claims it wasn't them. As far as the Turbo o-ring it was leaking slightly and I'm having it fixed also.
Thanks for all the help, without you guys the deal would have told me it was the main seal and screwed me good.
Thanks again.
Brad
i wouldnt take a chevy to kwik kar. I will never go there again. They use cheap crappy taiwan filters and low quality oil. I had to change my oil myself after I took my truck to them. I made it from North Ft Worth area to Weatherford and had engine tick and smoke. I bought 6qts of REAL oil and a REAL american made filter and changed oil in my friends driveway. Problem went away. Right on the filter i took off "Made in Taiwan"
ah ha. Broke in their hands. I hate it when that happens. I run a repair shop too and I swear some people bring me things on their deathbed and then blame me when they die on the table.
