transmission leak

Well guys, I just received my recall notice for the EP sensor and other parts. Now I will have to add the trasmission to the work needed down. While changing my oil I noticed fluid covering in the front of the transmission and also in the rear. I determined that it was transmission fluid because some was sitting in the seal in the back passenger corner of the pan gasket, red fluid. Will they have to drain the fluid to repair it? If so I will let them do a transmission flush on their dime since it is almost time for it. I will keep you posted on what they find. Let me know if anyone else has seen this.

prolly just a reseal. dont think they would cahnge the fluid unless it was rebuilts.

Just saw that on Thursday. Took the truck in that day around noon and got it back Friday evening. They had to tear down the tranny to find the problem. Apparently there was a bad seal on the front of the pump assembly causing the fluid to aerate. Based on the repair order, it looks like they overhauled the tranny assembly, replaced sealing rings, and flushed the cooler lines. Based on materials used, they changed the fluid and the screen. Before the tranny spat fluid in my driveway, I noticed what I thought was a slightly harsh shift from 2nd to 3rd. But after the repair I realize it was actually a really harsh shift. The tranny shifts like butter now. What a difference.
