zf6-speed differences digital, mechanical

zf6-speed differences digital, mechanical
Can a digital 6 speed be swapped into a mechanical 6 speed or 5 speed truck?
I'm thinking about swapping in a 6 speed for my zf5 speed that is hooked up to a 'v10. I know there is 2 models of the 6 speed. The last one introduced around 2004 is supposedly beefed up a little. I had read on the zf website where the new tranny can be substituted for the old tranny, but the old one cant' be used in the new ones place. But I can't find that info now. I know one difference might be the digital speedo, and other internal changes. Anyone know the differences?
