Hey fellow Ford lovers. Saw on another post someone talking about using a 1" spacer under carb. for extra tourqe. I'm running a stock 351W except elderbrock performer intake and holly 600. Three-speed manual. Is this something that might benefit me? I'm thinking about adding a low-end cam also but not sure if it would do much either. Any help or recommendations appreciated. P.S. this is a 1971 f100, daily driver.Thanks. C.Deal in Carolina.

I use a four holer under my 750 Holley and now a Speed Demon. It seems to help with low/mid range grunt. You may find it ices up in the winter when it's real humid/cool. Don't bother trying an open hole. It will kill your bottom end and idle.

I've got an Edelbrock wood spacer and I can't tell a difference. What it really boils down to is how much hp or torque you have before the spacer, i.e. if you have 100 hp/ftlbs and the spacer adds 10 hp/ftlbs then you've just boosted output by 10%. But if you've got 300 hp/ftlbs then you total gain is only 3.33%.
