Talking Here's a STUPID question!

I've been thinking about replacing my factory stereo with new system w/amp, subs, component speakers etc.. I have also been working on a regulated fuel mod that has become more expensive than I had planned. Now I am drooling over a 4" exhaust to replace my stock/BTM exhaust. The EGT's climb a bit faster than I would like.

Then It dawned on me, I were to forgo the stereo, I could spend all that cash on mods! So.... what would you do!

Hey strokin_it7.3, knew you would post! I do spend most of the time listing to wicked wheel! I was just getting stereo so I could run ipod and sat radio when traveling. After I thought about it, the kids always have the dvd player going anyway. Besides, what better sound is there than a finely tuned (and moded) PSD?

Exactly! I try and turn the stereo on, but then my mechanic's ear starts to twitch and I have to turn the radio off and listen to the music from under the hood.
Get that big exhaust, you won't regret it. The engine will be a lot more free revving despite it's huge displacement.
Especially between 2000 and 2500 RPM.

I'm predicting an exhaust in my future, feeling all funny inside!

Well despite what they say about the 4" being good for whatever HP your engine can generate, I cannot for the life of me get my EGT over 1250 with the 5" exhaust before I start to hit the rev limiter.

Music to my ears

Every time I try listening to a CD, I end up muting it after a song or two just to listen to the engine/exhaust.... just can't help it.

Amen brother!! I couldn't tell you the last time I had the radio on it my truck.... Shoot I've been known to drive with my windows down, and the heat blasting, in the middle of winter, just to listen to my stacks bark!!

Hink - definitely skip the radio, and take another step to the "dark" side!

Having that ipod in the truck is really nice. I've got an iriver (windows media player version of the ipod) that is hooked up and I have it mounted on the driver's left AC vent and it seems like the perfect place for it. But I do agree, I love how the truck sounds.

Well the stereo's out and the 4" exhaust is ordered! I was just out visualizing what that 5" stainless tip will look like.

NICE! I had the straight tip in cart at first, then I changed to angled tip. Wondering if I made the right choice???
