True. Take a look at any Full-size 4x4 and look at the way the front tires stick out a little bit more from the fenderwell than the rear end. the 4x2 trucks don't have this. By the way it is not that the 4x4 rear is narrower than a 4x2 rear, it is that the front end track is wider than the rear axle track. My early bronco does this too but to a lesser degree. Why they did this...I have no idea. The newer trucks (except brand C) seem to have gotten away from this.
