I went out to measure a house for window blinds this past wednesday, and when I was coming up the driveway I spotted a 76 setting in the back of the back yard. Since I'm a 66 kind of guy, I says to myself, self that is a good donor for ps & pdb conversion. When I finished the measure I asked the lady about buying the truck. Turns out she had given it to her neighbor 6 years ago, but he never came and got it. She had asked him several times over the years about him coming for it, but it was still there. Well to make the story short I bought it, went and got my tow dolly and pulled it home.
Turns out the truck is an XLT, 302, auto, ac, and has no dents and is about as solid of a 76 as you can find. It has top side rust from sitting 6 years but even the core support is solid. I have posted some pictures on http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/fordtrucks1961to1966 you will have to join the club and click on the photos link to the left and it's in Johns 76 Shortbed.
We changed the oil, pulled the plugs and squirted oil in each cylinder, rebuilt the carb, and put in new plugs, and got it fired today. It runs good, filled the ps pump, tranny was ok, and drove it about 3 blocks to see how the tranny shifted. I was impressed.
I know this aint the classifieds, but if one of my yankee posting pals is looking for a solid straight shortbed southern restoration project, and has fat pockets, give this ol redneck an email and it could be yours. :-)

Adam, I don't know what parts off of your truck you are referring to, but they should. This truck is complete and drivable. I had it out today the tranny shifts fine the brakes are coming in. The exhaust it the only thing rotten on this truck. I was under it tonight NO ROT. The mufflers have holes in them and the power steering gear is leaking at the bottom seal. This baby could be driven home.
I will be happy to discuss a price with you privately. My email address is below, shoot one out and I'll respond.
