Adjusting power steering boost ?????
I have a '78 F100 with power steering. It has the newer type of PS pump with the plastic fluid reservoir and the twist cap/dip stick.
I want to reduce the amount of boost to increase road feel. It has some sort of spool valve at the output. This valve is back by a spring; the spool has holes in it for a fluid bypass or ????. If you can answer my question you know the details of the pump.
How can I reduce the boost?
It seems like you can modify the spool valve to achieve this. Where can I find details on the design of the valve/pump? I have the shop manuals and it does not go into enough detail on the operation of the valve.
