Partitionable and Stackable F350 Bed

I ordered an F350 last week and have the brochure memorized. Every once in a while I read it again because I can't think of anything else to do while waiting. Only five to seven weeks to go!

Anyhoo, I read in the brochure that the cargo bed is "partitionable and stackable." What does that mean? I think the partitionable part means it has indentations in the sidewalls for dividers but I have no idea at all on what stackable means.

Thanks,
Mike D.

Same thing except vertically. There are a few indentations in the sidewalls that let you place a board horizontally across the bed so you could have 2 layers of storage. I have never tried it in my truck but it is there.

I've seen that in a couple of newer beds. Has anyone out there actually used this feature?

I've never seen anyone use it, but I know a guy here at work wishes he had it. He just built a huge false floor in his bed to do just this. I think he built it out of a 2x6 frame with a sheet of plywood on the top, and then made a long drawer out of 2x4's and a sheet of plywood that slides in under the false floor. That way he can store all of his hunting gear back there in the drawer, and can still haul stuff on top of the false floor. It doesn't look the greatest, but it is a pretty cool setup.

I just think it would be kind of a pain to measure and cut the boards to the right length, and then have to keep track of them so I don't use them for something else.

Yep, I use 'em almost every time I go to the beach.

I've got two boards cut that I lay flat, makes perfect bench seating. Throw a beach umbrella in one of the stake pockets, and you're in business! You've got shade, and you're up off the sand!

Now reading this, I think I'll go and take a look to see how hard it'll be to make a 'deck' in the bed of my truck...hmm...Astroturf floors, built in 'sunken' cooler, small putting green, maybe I'm getting carried away...
