problem again

LAST EDITED ON 31-Jul-01 AT 05:47 PM (EST)[p]Hello all, its me again. I have some more questions for ya. I was talking earlier about how when I hit bumps in the road, my truck skips to the right. I can not even go 45 miles an hour, its to dangerous. I have replaced my radial arm bushings because they were completely trashed. My shocks and springs and bearings are in good shape. I also checked my tie rod and suspension arm, "by pulling on them" they do not move at all. The only thing left is my axle. Im very confused about this situation, and would gladely take any advice as to what is making the truck do that. How would I check my axle to see if its bad? Or what about where the axle goes to the tire, that swivel? could that be the problem? This is really racking my brain.....Oh, btw, its a 76 F-100......

You need to further explain what truck you have. Is it a 2WD or 4WD? Do you have power / assist steering? I've rebuilt my '79 F100 300-6 2WD front end and still have problems with steering. I have the P-steering gear box to go. You may have worn ball joints or spindle bushings - a lot depends on what front end you have and what kind of steering system you have.
