i dont like body lifts, but i will if its the cheapest way. It all seems like to much of a hassle, with getting the fan shroud to work with out destroying the fan, ive also heard you need to extend the fuel neck and stuff. Do you think the air bags may help, i think how they work is by going onside the front coil springs and get filled with air to raise the truck up, sound like a good idea?? let me know thanks
i found airbags for the front, and add-a-leaf is affordable for the rear. Ok so here are the air bags http://www.7453217467431.com/product...83909031&tab=2
do you think they are worth it? or just a waste of money. Body kits are alot of trouble to install, but i may have the time a patience to do that if these air bags are not worth it.

Never done airbags, sorry. They make front and rear spring blocks to lift you an inch or 2. Maybe the explorer suspension with blocks front and rear might not be a bad idea. My only concern with blocks to begin with were the saggin springs but if you're gonna fix that then it's not a horrible idea. You'll end up with a little positive front camber but you should be able to correct that with some degreed alignment bushings. A good thing about the bushings are that they are pretty cheap.
No matter what you pick it sounds like you should freshen up what you have with explorer springs to get your BII back to a good base point. I think I'll be doing the same thing. My goal is a little different though, I just want to do the explorer springs and run 30" BFG Mud Terrains on my factory aluminums. I like the lower baja type look.
yeh, true im sure if the was the baja near me id do the same. Not saying you do, but yeh. I think i am doing the explorer spring in both the front and rear. I could use the added weight capabilty and it would be a good start for the higher suspendtion. I got some wiring to do that will occupie me for the majority of winter. In spring im doing ALL the rust and giving areas new paint coats and stuff. By early to mid summer that when the fun starts, suspension time and other mods. lol

That's cool, keep us updated on it. I plan on wrenching a lot of my BII too. I think I might have just snagged a whole 2.3l turbo thunderbird tonight. I'll post on it when I get it for sure. That 2.3 turbo would make a BII a rocket. Your right on the Baja, no where near me either here in WI. That's what's great about wrenching older vehicles, we can build them how ever we like and hopefully we have fun doing it. Keep us updated!
OSin86 - I don't know if you know this, but there are also flare fenders available for the BII's that give them a pretty mean stance for the Baja look.

Yeah I found those on a yahoo pic search. They look pretty mean. Have you ever seen them in person?
yep, it is the suspension it self making the truck lean. I think you know what this calls for, a trip to the junk yard for some better explorer springs. I now see why people get them for somthing other then a mild lift. I am getting the explorer springs and putting a add a leaf onto them to get a good 2 1/2 inches (just pushing the allowance of the current driveshaft, i may get a different one off another rig someday.what is it about the stock shaft any way that makes it not allow the height, and how do i get one that will???). I am buying a front lift kit off of ebay that is perfect. And when i say perfect i really mean it. Its the spacers, the studs AND cams!! for about 89 bucks or so. I think im one my way to this pony a beast!! lol
I bought 2" spacers for the front coils, was $25 shipped, looked great, was quick and easy to install, I plan to put an add-a-leaf in the rear soon, no blocks. I want a 2" body lift next, I want the bodylift for room to work on the engine, the extra space will allow upgrades, like future v-8.
I'd love a set of the Bushwhacker cut out fender flares, but they are far to costly for me, you can buy a suspension lift for the same price.
in the future im getting maybe the 2inch body lift to make a total of 4inch lift with bigger tires so itll be around 5 inches taller. Im doing the 4.0 swap- its alot easier and cost friendly. But it depends what your using your bronco II for and what year it is to put in the v8
