gear swap
hi, i have a 93 f150, 4x4, 5speed, 300. i have a 4" lift and 33x12.5 tires. i currently have 3.08 gears and open rear diff. i would like to get new gears but not sure which ones. the majority of the driving is about 55mph on highways or driving in town. i occasionaly offroad with it, every couple months. i was wondering if i should go 3.73 or 4.10 gears, and what a good limited slip or locker. obviously moneys an issue with the ls/locker.

i would go with 4.10 and a powertrax lock right locker. i am looking to do the same in my truck. you dont need to get the locker installd professionally you can do it yourself mostlikly if you have experiance with working on trucks.

i just went from 3.08 to 3.73s and love it .before in 5th gear i was running 1900 rps at 70 mph now i run 2400 at 70.but most of my running is not that fast .i think the gas mileage is better .dont change gears much at all now .the truck pulls great now .i think the 4.10s would be too low for everyday driving like i do .
