During cold startups my 99 PS make lots of noise coming from the exhaust (4"). It is not constant, it acts like it is building pressure and releases. It quits when the engine is warm. While driving I do feel a loss of power but rpms do not appear to change. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks
exhaust back pressure valve, helps warm the motor up
Probably, If you don't want it unplug it. Iv'e had mine unplugged for quite awhile now with no problem. Some have said that it will throw a code but it hasn't happened to me.
that is normal. it is just your exhaust back pressure valve closing to put a load on the engine to help it warm up. it wil open when you hit normal operating temp or when you hit the throttle hard and need power right away. if you live where it is cold you should not delete it

whenever it goes to high idle it will throw a code, you don't know it unless you scan it, but it doesn't effect anything. I've had mine unplugged since about the first week I got the pickup, and love it since. its annoying to listen to, and kinda scary with a 6-speed to have it try and close going down the road.
