White face guages

I have a 1987 ford F150 4x4 and while looking on ebay I have seen white face guages.
What I was wondering is how do you take the needles off the gages and get them back on? Has anyone put any of these on their truck and what kind of job is it>?
also will guages for a 1992 fit on my 1987? they look the same layout.

I'm pretty sure that the 92 guages won't drop right into an 87 without some modifications.

thanks for the reply low.
The guages look alike the way they are laid out. But I don't know without having them side by side and I don't want to spend $60 to find out they wont work .

They won't interchange, even though they are laid out similarly. You need to get a set for 87-91 to have the markings line up correctly.
