Sure it would. You just need to figure out where to put the diode. I believe the chevys are a negitive ground system, while Fords are not, however this shouldn't really matter providing you detirmine the correct wires to tap.
BTW, I neither recommend nor disapprove of this mod. I have heard that drawing the additional amps though the switch could burn it out - I don't know. I did however burn up my switch on the '87 F350 not long ago and it's not modified this way.
