2001 Ford F150. Removed Idler air control valve and cleaned, I flushed the tranny. On decelating at 5mph, rpm drops below idle rpm ( 600-650), drops to 500 for second or two then back to idle. Idles fine, runs fine. Any thoughts???

What racerguy said. Although...have you tried seeing if there is any difference between hard and mild braking? Keep track of your RPM's too when doing this. As I said before, I tend to believe what Racerguy said...IAC. Cleaning is barely a fix. If it did help at all then it must be replaced.
The only reason that I mention the speed of braking is cause it sounds like a fuel issue I had with another truck. I don't remember exactly what it was but the shop explained it to me then. It was on an old 85 302EFI. Was doing the same thing. But for some reason, the fuel wasn't getting through the rail under braking....at least hard braking.
Check your vacuum llnes. They crack easily as they get older. Also with the cleaning and moving stuff around there could be one that has been loosened up. Also check the bolts on the IAC. But one thing...what did you use to soak your IAC in? Usually for cleaning it is just a spray into the ports to get the carbon out. There are still electronic parts in there that could of been affected by the soaking.
Still have the problem, installed new IAC and no change. Idle seems to be varying now. At a light last night was idling at 800 RPM, normally 600. I did a test on the EGR valve. Removed the vacuum line on the EGR valve and put a vacuum line on it. Was told it should kill the engine, but it didn't, it tried real hard but never did. Now, I had it in park which was idling around 900. Was told to do it in park. So there`s a hole in the diaphram in my EGR valve or am I wrong??? THNX for your posts!!
