Say,
I found the box that my water pump came in.On the back of the box it's stamped Airtex products.Airtex was a 100%new water pump, with a limited life time warranty.
I checked out the Napa site, they now carry Dura Pro water pumps made by GMB.
Do ya'll think the Dura Pro by GMB would be a better pump. If Nappa wanted to swap out the Airtex pump for a GMB pump?
Or should I go to some other water pump?
I've just got this weekend to put on the pump.
I personally haven't had very good luck with Napa products, but they can't all be bad. Airtex makes a good product, I've put them on customer vehicles with good luck. I personally would probably put a Ford pump on my good rig. It's all up to you. I wouldn't worry about the Airtex pump at all.
i worked car parts for about 5-6 years through high school and college. the places i worked all sold GMB pumps, and it was a RARE occurrance for them to come back. i wouldn't hesitate to put one on my vehicles.
Napa is so weird for their parts now a days. Like you can get a batch of parts from them that will last forever and then you can get some that will suck like a mother. Ive never had a problem with airtex products only used 2 in my life so far. Ive also never had a problem with ford parts. Used a good 4 or 5 dozen of them.
