Has anybody that has done a suspension lift felt that their bronco has been unstable? IM thinking of getting one and i was just wondering if they were unstable on angles?

Just like any SUV it depends on how you drive it. If you try to take a highway offramp going 65,of course youll end up on your roof. I have a 4" lift on mine and didnt notice any stability issues, just dont drive crazy and youll be fine. How big of a lift are you talking of?

6 inches would be good for that. You should look at upgrading the front of that bronco II. I used to snap ujoints all the time with just 31's.

Opps, sorry, I missed that part. I guess the point I was going to share is that a lot of the 1990 BII's came with the heavier explorer Dana 35 front end so a swap might not be needed. Mine came with the 35. So when you're shopping you can get a heavier duty front end already installed if you look at some 90's.

Best bet, is the 91 to 94 explorer front axle. Dana 35's, stronger shafts, better u-joints at the stub shafts. You'll need a shorter front driveshaft and a few other odds and ends, but the swap is a bolt in for all intents and purposes. A problem with the 35's though is the wheel bearings. They are too close together, and have a tendency to loosen up at the worst possible time (Going 65 down the interstate), punting the front wheel into the median, and sending you on a very wild ride. You DO NOT want to even try to spin 36's with the D28. All it will do is make expensive sounding noises.

Also, that 7.5 rear will eat istelf trying to spin those tires. Upgrade to 8.8 out of a ranger. Again, that's a near bolt in with some driveshaft and brake mods. If you want 4 wheel disk, go with the explorer rear.

Beware of the 90 BII's front ends. They had a "hybrid" front axle that year too, which had D28 parts in the D35 housing. The ONLY way to tell is to pull the pig from the axle arm, and look inside. Can you say junk?

Every hybrid I've spotted has a smooth case and the real 35 has the reinforcement ribbing. You can pull the plug on the front too and see. If you can see the main cap, you have the 28 guts. If you can see the end of the carrier, you've got a good one.
