Yes you can with a .030 427 block and a 428 crank.....
4.26 x 4.26 x 3.98 x 8 (cyls) x .7854 = 453.82 cu or 454.

Why play with little toy motors, get a 427 bored .020" over to 4.25" and add a 4.25" arm for a 482.3 ci. Now we be talking torque. Step it up with the wallet for a Shelby block bored to 4.40" and add a 4.375" arm for a nice little 532 ci motor. Too rich for me so i'll have to settle for a 482 for the next motor but the 414 keeps running great. Yes the return of the FE's.

I like the following combination:

Overbored 360/390 truck block, sonic checked of course, 4.130" bore, 4.25" stroker crank, 462.1 cubic inches

427 blocks are just too darn expensive!

Edit: Although, that FE 454 would PO a lot of chevy guys!

And yes, it's completely possible to build one.

I want the bigger bore of the 427 motor for more cylinder wall to valve clearance, more inches as well cross bolted bottom end. At the moment i'm watching cash out go because the back injury cost me some time off work the past 9 months. I had one 427 block months ago but it was too far gone and sold it, another ones out there with my name on it. My minds made up, only a 482" will satisfy my motor needs.
