I started the tear-down on my F100 this week, in preparation for delivery to my body guy for stripping and repainting. I'm hitting a few salvage yards this weekend to scavenge for better fenders and doors (mine are repairable, but I'll take straight and rust-free panels from a donor if I can find them). Any tips on removing these items?

Other than finding rust free fenders:
Take some PB Blaster or WD40 with you for sure!Take a hammer and a big chisel(lower fender bolt??)
And definetly saftey glasses. Those front bolts on fenders that bolt to support can be awful dirty.Four 1/2 head 5/16 bolts hold on doors.Easy, they break(not your problem)or come out.
Also, take some jack stands and a good platform(steel plate,3/4 plywood, ect)to support stand. If a 1/2ton has a flat tire, you will never get to some of those fender bolts. Also the PB doubles as wasp killer!!
Good luck and i've been there before.Have fun

BTW,
A 3/8 ratchet and a 1/2 short socket will do 90% of the work.
...one more thing...a gas powered air compressor with an 1/2" air impact wrench and 3/8" air ratchet will save countless hours of aggrevation and frustration.
There are some bolts that are at the grill/radiator support/fender junction. They sometimes will spin the little nut on the bottom side that is tack welded on that you don't see, that can be a problem in the wrecking yard. I'd be sure to use lots of PB blaster or other such penetrating oil to help prevent this. You might want to consider the condition of your radiator support too.
Thanks for the info. My radiator support is fine. The only rust on my truck, which has spent its entire life in the south, is at the bottom rear corners of the doors. I want replacement fenders because the ones I have are dented and dinged in several places, and I'm hoping it will be cheaper to find some straight junkyard pieces than pay to have mine repaired.
Sure wish I had that gas-powered compressor. A ratchet set and breaker bar are going to have to do me.

67-72 no.1 fenders can be hard to find.I dont mean impossible but can be tough.I wish you luck.(Seriously)
Yeah, the air would be a dream. Those fenders have alot of bolts in them.I counted them one time remember something like 14 of them!
You are lucky having a good support.I never found one,so i just repaired mine.
Also, make sure you take a magnet and a scratch awl for rust check.Expecially on the bottom of doors. That back half held dirt which when it gets moist,it stays that way in the door.
