Dealer told me today that Ford will show the extended version of the Expedition at the auto show in Houston on Feb. 27th. I'm not sure if this is the debut or not, but that's the info Ford was telling him.
He also said Ford will start taking orders by the end of March for this vehicle.
that sounds correct. i can't wait to see it. i wonder if they will debute the 4.5 engine?
What? You mean someone may have a smaller dispacement then me in a new Expy? Man, I was debating whether to throw on those "4.6" badges, now I'm doing it for sure...
He means the the new diesel that Ford has been developing. As for new engines, there are rumors going around that the supposedly canceled "Hurricane" is going to debut. Not only that, thes trucks will also probably be going to be offered with 5 or 6 speed transmissions. Don't quote me on any this information though.
I know, I know, but displacement is displacement, and 4.6 > 4.5
Now that's one swap I would definately consider if they end up doing it. That way I wouldn't have to lose my a$$ trading in my Expy for an Excursion PSD...
What is this "Hurricane" you speak of?
I see a name change in it's future. I highly doubt Ford would risk offending the entire Gulf Coast Region by naming a vehicle after the very thing that destroyed their homes. Not my concerns, just thinking like an overly PC coorperation in todays litigous-frenzied society.
