hey guys i got a rattling like one of my rear door latches isn't catching. it's the rear door on my side. is this a common problem/ or just a stupid adjustment. i only get it when i hit bumps on the road.
i know on the old style striker bolts there was a plastic bushing that kept the door latched tight and keep it from rattling. I don't know if they are still like that but the only other thing i can think of is an adjustment of some sort.

This may not be your problem, but it's worth some investigation. I had the same problem on both of my rear doors. It started with the rear D/S door and it was REALLY annoying. While I was elk hunting this fall in the Colockum area (suffice it to say, these are the roughest dirt "roads." on earth, I developed the same problem in the passenger side rear door. Annoying sound in stereo. It was almost like a "squeaking/rattling" noise. I thought it was just loose, but after doing everything in the book including removing everything from the interior of the door and finding nothing, I looked elsewhere. top to.........bottom. Here is where I found my problem. If you look closely at the bottom (edge) of the door when the door is open (looking at the striker and then follow the door edge down to the bottom) you'll notice a spot weld (one of many) that hold the door skin onto the rest of the door. This is where my noise was coming from. The weld on both doors had come apart and would allow some movement between the two halves of metal making the seriously annoying squeak/rattle. I didn't want to mess with the spot welder, so I just drilled out the weld and bolted the two together with a stainless cap screw and a nyloc. VOILA. Instant peace.
My doors have squeeked since the day I bought it new. I too drive the logging roads on the west side of the hill mostly and in Winthrop, the squeek is enough to drive a person crazy. I'll have to take a look at mine also thanks for the info.
