1936 pink slip

I'am planing to go to DMV and try to get a pink for the numbers on frame. Just can't make out if I have enough digets appeers to have xx xxxxxxx thats 2 numbers plus a space then 7 numbers. Does anyone know if this is the way to go about reg.

Looks right - 1936 V8 would be between 18-2207111 and 18-3331856

Getting a title is a state by state process - I don't know your state process. DVM could tell you for sure - maybe......

Years ago (20 mebbe) there were ads in some of the car magazines about getting a title from one or two states that were pretty lax about title procedures. Basically, you would call up a company in this state, tell them your VIN number and they would issue you a title. In a nutshell, you basically bought your own car (that previously didn't have a title) from one of these companies and they would send you a title for it in the mail. Do companies like this still exist or did the state/federal government close these places down?
