Just a thought as an option. I had my dash pad recovered with foam and matching vinyl at a local trim shop for $80.00. I like original parts but you cannot tell the difference. You do have to clean it off good and use a heat gun to shape the material.

Phew, purt near 300 clams is too rich for my blood anyways...I was thinking it was something like the $89 dash jobber lmc has. Perhaps thats considered a dash "cover" rather than a "pad". Thanks for the price though.

Look at the defrost vents, speaker holes and where the pad hits the door frame next to the window. Its a giveway that you have a cover instead of a pad, especially to show judges. Plus the one inch flat edge ends up being too wide. I considered a cover for my 67 until I saw a couple of them at shows, especially one on a Rangoon Red 67. I'm not a purist by far, but seat covers and dash pads are two things that I definately think ought to be done 100%. Its sort of like going to a show and seeing a homemade fan shroud. Some people see it and say "neat". I see them and think "the guy didn't look hard enough to find one." I guess its all in what you plan to do with your truck.
I sure wish we could get a group purchase going for some of the chrome (anodized aluminum) on 73--79 trucks. I would like to get the chrome for tailgate and rear lites but $310 is a bit much for 4 peices of aluminum 73 F-100 shortbed 302 cu. in. C4 auto
LAST EDITED ON 24-Jul-01 AT 08:20 AM (EST)[p]i just purchased a 1972 ranger F250. i was wondering how much the dash pads will be when you get the group discount. thanks.
How about some accessories to go with this since we have to tear into the dash area anyway? The plastic covering for the instrument area would be nice. Any other ideas?
Joe
I'm seriously interested - Harrisons dash pad is cracked; I need to take care of him. I'm interested in the black to match the plush and oh-so-comfy black leather 40-20-40 bench; put me on your list, wouldja?...

You're too late. The original group purchase announcement was made ago 6 weeks ago. The pads were ordered almost 3 weeks ago and were shipped 12 days ago. The group purchase is over.
I have 2 73-79 pads in stock. Normal price is $290. I will sell one for $50 off at $240 to the first person here who orders it. Don't wait this time, I don't plan on any future dash pad discounts due to the hassle of getting an entire pallet shipped.
