I have a 2000 F2504x4 with 122000 mi. Great truck. I am having two electrical problems I need help with. 1)The alternator is putting out just over 13 amps and the battery is good under a load. Cleaned all terminals. Under a load (snow plow/ lights/heater) it is loosing charge. 2) Heater controls working in low and high only. Replaced resistor and control switch. What now? I am new to this forum any help will be appriciated. Thank you.
If its the original battery then its prob toast. The alt with a good battery should be charging at 14.5 volts at the battery. A good battery should read 12.5 volts after the surface charge has wore off, lights on for 3 mins engine off. As far as the low and hi only you have a switch problem or a connection between the sw and resistor.
