throttle body 4.0 sohc

throttle body 4.0 sohc

What is the factory size of the throttle body and does anybody make a larger aftermarket one. I`ve searched and did`nt find much.

No, as far as i know, there's no aftermarket tb for the sohc. From everything I've heard, the stock tb is able to handle any aftermarket bolt on's, up to the explorer express supercharger. Your fine!

go to summit.com i was recently reading one of there catologs and they did make a larger bore tb for the 4.0

SUMMIT does have a 66 mm for the 4.0, but it's for the ohv, not the sohc. I believe the stock tb on the sohc is 65 mm, if memory serves me right.

Also forgot to mention, you can port and polish your stock tb for smoother air flow. 65 mm is pretty big on a v-6, unless you get some major head work and some radical cams, and such. With the 4.0 sohc in the new mustang, i am sure there will be all kinds of new goodies on the way.
