I need to replace the bulbs in my 96 Bronco's 3rd brake light. After I take the 2 screws out, how does the assembly come out? Something seems to be holding it in. I can only pull it out about a 1/4 of an inch. What is holding it in?
I had the same problem. The left side of the light assembly did not want to slide out and for the life of me I could not figure what it was hanging upon. The culprit was a previous owner put in a higher wattage bulb than specified and the extra heat generated by the bulb melted the plastic of the light housing. When the housing melted the plastic bubbled up a little and kept the left side of the light assembly from sliding out of the pocket in the roof. I was able to get a bare hacksaw blade in there to shave off the melted spot and slid the light assembly out. Sorry but I do not recall the replacement bulb number and I can't get to my truck at the moment. I'll check when I get home.
