If you want loud just leave the exhaust straight thru.
Mufflers are just extra weight.

I put a glasspack in the '92. Don't know what brand it is, it was something the muffler shop provided. Cost $35 for the pack and $50 to put it on. I like it, a nice power rumble, not too loud unless you want it to be then you just open up the throttle. Way better than the stock muffler.

Thanks Chevy_eater, I jus bought a flowtech red hot, how long is yours? Mines 24 inches, the muffler shop wanted 50 for the muffler and 60 for the whole install, got mine for 20.

Ok guys i finally put it on!! Seein how im broke and all and my parents quit puttin money into my truck uhh the day i got it, i had to clean my truck completely out to find the money for the clamps...i know pathetic but yah spent all my money on the truck n diesel n i lost my job so yah gotta make do. The muffler sounds great, quiet at idle, deep tone, and that loud sound i love when u punch it! It also sounds great down shifting. I had a buddy tell me once that if you get ur glasspack hot enough and shove a water hose up in it itll crack the packing and itll blow out, is this true? Not planning on tryin it im just curious if its just a myth or not.

I wouldn't worry to much about blowing out the glasspack. It will do that all by itself soon enough.

I've heard that story all my life, dunno if it works or not...never tried it. Just about everything I've put 'packs out have burned out in a year or less anyways.
