Hello, everyone. I own a 1991 Airstream B190 RV based on the Econoline 350 chassis, with the 460 V8 and E40D with 110,000 miles. I have to say how impressed I am with the quality of the Ford chassis and engine - when I bought the camper last year, I looked underneath to check for rust spots or anything, and it was perfectly fine. Also, the engine in that thing just purrs, and I enjoy driving it quite a bit. Backing up, not so much, but going forward is just great.
Modifications - well, the whole camper thing probably counts as a mod, even though it came from Airstream that way. I also pulled out the stock AM/FM/Cassette player an installed a Pioneer DEH-MP3700 and Sirius tuner, then I created MP3 discs of many of my favorite CDs to play in the camper on the road.
I also own a 1999 Mercury Cougar and a 2004 Chevy Impala. Both of these get to occasionally "ride along" with the camper by way of a tow dolly. That's a heavy rig, but the tow dolly has brakes, and I'm not in a hurry.
I have a few tech questions, but I see from the forum rules that this isn't the place to ask them (See? Some people DO read the "read this first" posts!).
If you're not familiar with this type of motor home (it's not what people usually think of when they hear "motor home"), here's a picture of it.
We are happy you have chosen the best source for Fords!
