hot wiring
ok here is the deal. as i might be aquiring a new truck i am goign to scout it out first. I know it has not been started in a while and if every thing is turning freeley by hand i might try and trun it over with a bat and maybe add a little gas and see what happens. thing is i dont know if there is a key. it is a 58 f100 with a 223 can anyone tell me how i can go around the switch and turn the motor over? i guess i can jump over the start syl?? and then run a hot to the points? would that work? i will probly clean off the points and then just use my jumper cables.running the hot from there. i am not talking anything long just a quick on and off. when jumping the starter syl is it the big or the little ones i run off of? so can anyone tell me how to easly how to do this? thanks a digram and instructions would be great. again this would be a quick on off deal see if she fires and that would be it. thanks

Yes U can.. Or just another jumper from Batt (+) to the small terminal on the starter solenoid and the the solenoid do its job.. Make sure the jumper to the coil just wont fall off. Dont what to loss spark once it starts cranking.. ( And Make Sure You Are NOT in Gear!! )
