oil leaks

got a 97 f250 leaks appear to be from rear main seal area. are there any other likely suspects. this is my first diesel and a have lots to learn about it. it has 193000 miles on it. was a one owner farm truck here in indiana. the previous owner kept it serviced reg. used all motocraft parts and fluids. since i have had it had to replace fuel pump.also changed valve cover gaskets and put new glow plugs in. going to change fluid in trans next week. any suggestions about things to do to keep her healthy will be appreciated.

check the valley of the motor to see if theres oil there. check the hpop plugs at the back of the heads also. i have never heard of a rear main leaking on a powerstroke. ive got 2 trucks with high mileage and havent had one leak either.

Welcome to Ford Truck Enthusiasts jeep1947. We're glad you've chosen the best site for Fords.

I agree with Jake. That "rear main" leak usually originates on the topside of these engines, and runs out the drainhole in the rear of the engine valley.
