What can I use........
to clean the rod, (or whatever), the gas guage float is on?? The guage on my Lincoln, works to 1/2 tank, then goes to EMPTY. Does it need cleaned, can it be cleaned, -OR- does the inner tank guage just need replaced ??
The guage hadn't worked for about 2 weeks, then started working. Now it don't.

A couple fills with a double dose of injector/carb cleaner may work. We had some problems with bad Shell gas gumming things up in the fleet vehicles and that seemed to work. Depends on how bad it is or what is actually wrong with it I suppose.
